Five local teenage boys came together and started playing music in the summer of 2019.  The band consists of two guitarists, a drummer, a bassist, and a lead vocalist.  Listed oldest to youngest, the members are: Clayton Osborne (vocalist), Ryan Kowaleski (drummer), Preston Green (guitarist), Ethan Daly (guitarist), and Tim Hensley (bassist).

"After going to hardcore/punk shows in high school, we all bonded over really similar bands and decided to start writing music that would hopefully give people the same feeling seeing our favorite bands gave us", Kowaleski states.  So they started writing.  

Their first EP, Boreal, was released onto all streaming platforms on February 14, 2020.  

"Even before we had a band name, we had already started writing for Boreal", Kowaleski added.  Tom Thanks had then built a name for themselves.  Continuing on their musical journey, they then released a split EP with another local band, Hivemind. in October of 2020.  In addition, they have since released a single called Hyper Focused.  

Due to COVID-19 in March 2020, Tom Thanks had nothing but time to make a huge comeback.  During the lock down months, they started writing a lot of new material which is laying the groundwork for their debut album, Sonder.
